About 1% of the world’s population (50 million) people has vitiligo. In the United States, 2 to 5 million people have the condition. Many people develop vitiligo in their twenties, but it can occur at any age. The condition affects all races and both sexes equally.
In this podcast episode, we will be speaking with Erika Page of Living Dappled, a vitiligo lifestyle blog created for girls and women. Erika had vitiligo since she was seven. From a very young age, she experienced how a rare skin condition changed her life forever.
She will share with us the biggest misconception about vitiligo, how it affected not just her life but of people around her as well and how she's making a difference for young girls and women who have been through the same experience as her.
" Understand that you can love yourself and that loving yourself will make you happy, and then pursue that every single day with everything you have. It’s going to take courage and you’re going to have to push yourself out of your comfort zone, but you can get there. And you’ll never look back once you’re there." - Erika Page, Living Dappled
