Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that can cause sensitivity, excessive flushing, persistent redness, broken capillaries and breakouts. Often times this condition is mistaken for allergies or acne. If left untreated, the condition can worsen. Symptoms often are triggered by certain behaviours, which are typically unique to each individual, that is why it’s important to understand the common triggers so you can treat the condition properly. Rosacea mainly affects the central areas of the face, such as the cheeks and nose. The disease can affect both adult men and women, usually after the age of 30. April is Rosacea Awareness Month.
